The Highland Lakes

The Highland Lakes consist of 6 lakes:  Lake Buchanan , Inks Lake , Lake LBJ , Lake Marble Falls , Lake Travis , and Lake Austin . The lakes start in Austin and wind their way northwest for over 85 miles. Activities such as boating, fishing, swimming, waterskiing and jet skiing are extremely popular on the lakes as well as golfing around the lakes. The Highland Lakes Area is a leading tourist, recreation and retirement area convenient to all of Central Texas.

 

Canyon of the Eagles/Vanishing Texas River Cruise

This lodge and nature park on Lake Buchanan is the new home of the Vanishing Texas River Cruise, which includes the famous scenic wilderness cruise up the historic Colorado River Canyon. Every year, about 25 bald eagles migrate to the area during winter and early spring. The tour celebrates the migration of out national bird and allows viewers to experience the power, grace, and wonder of one of the largest colonies of Bald Eagles in Texas. Enjoy spectacular waterfalls and towering cliffs while watching these birds soaring through a crisp blue sky or sitting majestically on their treetop perches.

 

The Legends at LakeLBJ

Located one mile north of Kingsland on FM 2342, The Legends at Lake LVJ offers 18-hole championship golf with tee lengths ranging from 5,200 to 7,260 yards. Designed by Tom Kite, Roy Bechtol, and Randy Russell, this course is beautifully maintained and open to the public.
